In Kyiv, two minors beat and robbed a man

In the Dnipro District of Kyiv, two minors committed a robbery against a passerby. During the altercation, they beat the man and stole two cell phones, money, and documents; investigators subsequently notified them that they were under suspicion.

Law enforcement officials determined that the two teenage friends had provoked a confrontation on the street with a 29-year-old passerby. When the victim tried to leave the scene to avoid further altercation, the assailants caught up with him, sprayed tear gas in his face, and began punching and kicking him in the head and stomach. When the man lost consciousness, the attackers took two cell phones, 5,000 hryvnias, and his documents.

As a result of investigative measures, operatives, together with analysts from the criminal analysis unit, located the suspects. They turned out to be local residents aged 16 and 17. Law enforcement officers detained them in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

During a search of the suspects’ premises, investigators seized the victim’s devices and a can of tear gas.

Investigators from the Dnipro Police Department in Kyiv, under the procedural supervision of the Dnipro District Prosecutor’s Office of the capital, notified the suspects that they were suspected of violating Part 4 of Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—robbery committed by a group of persons acting in concert, under martial law. The penalty under this article provides for up to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
