Petrol and diesel prices will rise in the United Arab Emirates in October. E-Plus 91 petrol will see the largest increase, by 16.6%, while the price of Super 98 will rise by 15.7% and Special 95 by nearly 16%, The National reports.
New fuel prices
In October, a litre of Super 98 will cost 4.40 dirhams, compared with 3.80 dirhams in September. The price of Special 95 will increase from 3.69 to 4.28 dirhams, while E-Plus 91 will rise from 3.61 to 4.21 dirhams. Diesel will become 11.6% more expensive, rising from 4.30 to 4.80 dirhams.
This will be the third consecutive monthly increase in fuel prices in the country. The cost of motor fuel in the UAE has been linked to global oil market conditions since 2015, when price deregulation was introduced.

Situation on the oil market
According to the publication, oil prices rose in September amid uncertainty over a possible truce between the United States and Iran. Brent approached $110 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate exceeded $105.
Over the past week, quotations have declined somewhat due to hopes for agreements between Washington and Tehran on a long-term peace deal. At the same time, efforts to restore shipping through the Strait of Hormuz are stalling, according to The National. In September, Saudi Arabia's oil supplies through the strait rose to 2.58 million barrels per day, according to preliminary Kpler data.
