Nous Research raises $90 million at a $1.5 billion valuation — TechCrunch

Startup Nous Research, which develops the open-source AI agent Hermes, has raised $90 million in a Series B funding round at a $1.5 billion valuation. TechCrunch reports, citing The Wall Street Journal. The company also announced its entry into the corporate segment with the Hermes for Businesses product.

Investors and funding

The round was led by Robot Ventures. Other investors include Nvidia, Union Square Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Samsung, and 1789 Capital, whose partner is Donald Trump Jr. Following the new raise, the total funding of the three-year-old startup has reached $158 million.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Nous Research's annualized revenue was about $36 million in mid-September 2026. The company expects to exceed the $100 million mark by the end of 2026.

Corporate version of Hermes

Hermes for Businesses is intended to allow companies to deploy customized AI agents to carry out multi-step workflows. Nous Research says such a tool will enable businesses to maintain the privacy and security of their own data.

The open AI agent Hermes is popular among developers and individual users. By the startup's own estimate, it has been cloned more than 24 million times, while Hermes usage accounts for approximately 2.5% of global AI token consumption.
