The Russians carried out 172 attacks in the past 24 hours: The Pokrovsk sector remains the hottest spot
On October 6, there were 172 combat engagements on the front lines. Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces carried out 62 airstrikes, dropped 190 guided bombs, and deployed nearly 5,900 kamikaze drones. The Ukrainian military repelled the most attacks in the Pokrovsk direction, where 23 assaults were recorded.
Russian troops continue to attack Ukrainian positions across several sections of the front. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 172 combat engagements took place since the start of the day on October 6. In addition to ground attacks, the occupiers actively used aircraft and drones. Over the past 24 hours, the Russian army carried out 62 airstrikes and dropped 190 guided bombs.
The Russians also deployed 5,898 kamikaze drones. In addition, the enemy carried out 1,532 shelling attacks on Ukrainian settlements and Defense Forces positions. Ukrainian troops continue to repel the enemy’s offensive and inflict casualties on them.
The Pokrovsk sector remains the hottest
The Pokrovsk sector saw the most intense fighting over the past 24 hours. Ukrainian forces repelled 23 Russian attacks. The occupiers attempted to advance in the areas of Vilne, Bilytske, Vodyanske, Dobropillia, Novohryshyne, Serhiivka, and Molodetske. Another attack was still ongoing at the time this report was prepared.
According to preliminary data, Ukrainian forces eliminated 47 Russian soldiers in this sector, and another 15 occupiers were wounded. The Defense Forces also destroyed 15 vehicles, an artillery system, a piece of specialized equipment, two drone control centers, and an ammunition depot.
In addition, 41 Russian military shelters were destroyed. Another five vehicles, four pieces of specialized equipment, five UAV control centers, and 155 enemy shelters were damaged. Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian military also destroyed or neutralized 196 Russian drones of various types.
South Slobozhansky Direction
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna direction, Russian troops launched eight assaults on Ukrainian positions.
Fighting took place near Staritsa, Izbytske, Zakharivka, Mala Vovcha, and Varvarivka. Another clash was ongoing at the time of the General Staff’s report.
Kupiansk Sector
In the Kupiansk direction, the situation was less intense. Ukrainian forces repelled one assault by Russian troops in the area of Kivsharivka.
The enemy attempted to advance, but the Defense Forces halted the attack.
Lymansk Direction
In the Lyman sector, Russian forces attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses four times.
The attacks took place in the areas of Novoselivka and Lyman. Ukrainian defenders repelled all of the enemy’s attempts to advance.
Kramatorsk Sector
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian troops launched two assaults.

Orikhiv Sector
In the Orikhiv sector, the Russians launched one attack. Ukrainian defenders repelled it in the Plavny area.
