In Poland, a Ukrainian man suspected of attacking a monastery will undergo a psychiatric evaluation for the third time

The Polish prosecutor’s office has ordered a third psychiatric evaluation of the mental state of 31-year-old Ukrainian citizen Igor M., who carried out a knife attack on the grounds of a monastery in Jarosław in late September. One person was killed and five others were injured in the incident.

Law enforcement officials are seeking to determine whether the detainee’s condition has improved enough to charge him with murder, attempted murder, and causing serious bodily injury. Due to a diagnosed acute psychotic episode, the man is currently in a psychiatric hospital; despite gradual improvement and the disappearance of aggressive behavior, specialists do not yet recommend conducting an interrogation. The two victims, who remain in the hospital, are also on the mend.

This was reported by RMF24.
