The alleged organizer of the clashes during the protest was detained in Teremky

In Kyiv, police detained a 24-year-old man suspected of organizing a confrontation with law enforcement officers during a protest in the Teremky neighborhood.

According to investigators, he coordinated the actions of other participants in the clashes.

The protest took place on September 27 on Teremkivska Street, where people were protesting against the cutting down of trees. According to police, some of the participants began clashing with law enforcement officers and other protesters and were disrupting public order.

During the clashes, police claim, the participants used fireworks, shoved law enforcement officers, and used physical force against them. One policewoman sustained injuries.

Investigators have opened a criminal case under the article on hooliganism involving resistance to a law enforcement officer. This offense carries a sentence of up to five years in prison.

Law enforcement officials have identified other individuals who, according to preliminary data, actively participated in the conflict and are currently determining the role of each of them.

This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv.

Residents of Teremky held a rally over a backup heating pipeline.

The Kyiv City State Administration confirmed that in Teremky, the Municipal Security Service was pulling people away from construction equipment.

As a reminder, in Teremky, police are clearing a path for a heating pipeline by cutting down 100-year-old oak trees.

Also in Teremky, Kyiv’s municipal security forces forcibly dragged protesters away.

Against this backdrop, Kyivteploenergo denies that trees are being cut down in Teremky.
