Bakhmatov filed a lawsuit because he was denied financial assistance from the city budget
Maksym Bakhmatov, head of the Desnianskyi District Administration in Kyiv, has filed a lawsuit against the Kyiv City State Administration for failing to provide him with financial assistance from the city budget.
The report claims that the official, who heads the capital’s district, has purchased real estate and cars in recent years and also has significant savings.
Specifically, the report mentions an apartment in Kyiv worth 1.6 million hryvnias, a 50% share in an apartment in Lviv worth nearly 2.5 million hryvnias, and a parking space in Kyiv worth over 750,000 hryvnias. Bakhmatov allegedly leased a car for 4 million hryvnias, while his wife purchased a car for nearly 2 million hryvnias.

The article also states that the official declared $250,000 and €20,000 in cash. Another $150,000 is allegedly held by his wife, and $50,000 by Bakhmatov’s mother. In addition, the article mentions gold bars with a total value of 125,000 hryvnias.
The authors of the article also criticize the district authorities’ efforts to set up shelters and mention a proposal to install outhouses in the courtyards of Troieshchyna.
