Bezugla sold the apartment she inherited in Kyiv for $160,000
Member of Parliament Mariana Bezuhla reported that she sold a three-bedroom apartment in Kyiv for $160,000. She inherited the apartment from her father; previously, it had belonged to her grandfather—a military surgeon who worked at the Main Military Clinical Hospital.
According to Bezuhla, after her grandfather’s death, the property was inherited by her father and later passed on to her. She owned the apartment for about six years but rarely lived there, mostly renting smaller apartments instead.
Bezugla noted that the old appraisal of the property, conducted back in the 1990s, had not been updated after the apartment passed into her ownership. Because of this, claims had previously surfaced that she had purchased the property in Kyiv for 164,500 hryvnias. The lawmaker denied this and emphasized that she had never purchased the apartment.
Before the sale, the property was re-appraised, after which it was sold for $160,000. Bezugla described this amount as a typical price for a three-bedroom apartment in a Stalin-era building near the military hospital.
The lawmaker is now considering how to use the proceeds. Among the options, she mentioned purchasing a compact studio apartment or investing in government bonds. Bezuhla also stated that she does not plan to transfer the money abroad and will update her financial disclosure statement within the timeframe required by law.
