A documentary film about the murder of Iryna Farion is being filmed in Ukraine
Filming has begun in Ukraine on the true-crime documentary *Her Three Verbs*, dedicated to the murder of linguist and former Member of Parliament Iryna Farion.
The film will be based on 13 hours of previously unpublished footage that Yuriy Dvizhon shot during Farion’s lifetime for another project. After her death, the director decided to turn these recordings into a documentary about the murder investigation. Co-director and screenwriter Karina Pustovalova joined the project.
Filming continued after Farion’s death. The team filmed her funeral in Lviv, as well as the proceedings of the murder trial.
According to Pustovalova, the filmmakers aim to present the story as more than just a criminal case. One of the film’s central themes will be language and its role in the events surrounding the murder.
The film will also include footage of the life of Iryna Farion’s family following her death. The film’s premiere date has not yet been announced.

Law enforcement has not yet identified any potential masterminds behind the murder of linguist and civil society activist Iryna Farion. Nor has the investigation uncovered any individuals who may have collaborated with the convicted Vyacheslav Zinchenko or been his followers.

The defense team for Vyacheslav Zinchenko, who was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of linguist Iryna Farion, is filing an appeal against the ruling of the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Lviv. On October 1, attorney Tetyana Musykhina stated that the case had been completely fabricated and insists on her client’s innocence.
