The Air Force called the incursion of Russian drones into Moldova a planned operation
The violation of Moldova’s airspace by Russian drones may be a deliberate act by Russia.
This was stated by Yuriy Cherevashchenko, deputy commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, during a meeting of the parliamentary temporary investigative commission.
According to him, only a small number of drones may have deviated from their route due to the influence of Russian electronic warfare systems.
“These are planned operations. Perhaps 2–3% were affected by electronic warfare, but in the Black Sea, they can organize good coverage with relay stations,” Cherevashchenko noted.
Thus, the Air Force believes that the incursion of Russian drones into Moldovan territory should not be viewed merely as an accidental deviation from their course.
