Russian losses rose by nearly 40% in early October, according to Madyar

UA NEWS 06 October 2026 10:13
Russian losses rose by nearly 40% in early October, according to Madyar

During the first five days of October, confirmed irretrievable and medical losses among Russian troops increased by 39.7% compared to the same period in September.

According to data from the “Delta” system, 2,699 enemy infantry units suffered irretrievable or medical losses during the first five days of October. By comparison, 1,931 such units were recorded from September 1–5.

Thus, the increase amounts to 39.7%.

An even more significant difference is observed when compared to early August. From October 1–5, the number of confirmed casualties was 2,699, compared to 1,529 from August 1–5, 2026. This corresponds to a 76.5% increase.

According to the SBS’s Ptakov, the largest increase was recorded and effectively addressed in the “Azov” Task Force’s sector along the Dobropil-Pokrovsk direction.

Specifically, this refers to the sector of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov.”

During the first five days of October, SBS pilots in this zone confirmed 1,268 enemy combat and non-combat casualties.

By comparison, during the same period in September, 884 enemy casualties were recorded in the 1st Corps’ sector. Thus, the increase amounted to 43%.

If we compare the figures with those from August 1–5, 2026, when 664 losses were confirmed, the increase reaches 91%—1,268 versus 664.

The SBS specifically emphasized that the figures provided pertain exclusively to units of the Unmanned Systems Forces.

“The figures provided relate exclusively to units of the UAS Group and do not include other units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces; therefore, the full picture is far from complete,” the authors of the report noted.

Thus, the statistics provided do not cover the results of other units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces but reflect only the losses confirmed within the UAS’s own accounting system.

The authors of the post emphasize that this is not about assumptions or unverified information, but about data from systematic record-keeping.

“No fantasies, rumors, or guesswork—only accounting, mathematics, and analysis of verified losses. Everything is on the SBS Pidrachuyka online dashboard and in the Delta system,” the SBS emphasized.

At the same time, the authors called for taking into account the changing intensity of combat operations and adapting to new challenges on the front lines.

“It’s time to consider whether we need to tighten our belts and recalibrate to meet the new challenges on the front lines. Of course, the enemy isn’t carrying out any covert mobilization—it’s just those darn 3D printers churning out disposable bio-products,” the statement reads.

The relevant data was released by the SBS after analyzing the results of the units’ operations from October 1–5, Robert Madyar Brovdi reported.

Earlier, Robert Brovdi (Madyar), commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces, announced an escalation of attacks on oil and gas infrastructure and military targets within the aggressor’s territory. According to him, thanks to technological advancements, Ukrainian drones are now capable of striking targets up to 2,000 kilometers deep, thereby depriving the occupiers of any notion of a secure rear.

Robert Brovdi, commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces with the call sign “Madyar,” urged Ukrainians not to count on a quick ceasefire. He said that Russia continues to escalate the conflict and is exploiting opportunities to strike at Ukrainian rear areas. Brovdi emphasized that the Defense Forces need time to prepare a response and rearm.
