Satellite images show new activity at Iran’s nuclear facility — Jerusalem Post

Satellite images have recorded renewed activity at the Minzadehei facility on the northeastern outskirts of Tehran, Iran, which Israel attacked in March. As reported by the Jerusalem Post, the Institute for Science and International Security analyzed high-resolution images from VANTOR Technologies. They show regular vehicle movement around the complex and extensive earthworks.

Work after the strike

According to the institute’s assessment, satellite images also indicate significant site-clearing work following the Israeli strikes in March. Several above-ground structures, as well as likely underground constructions, were destroyed in the attacks.

The Israel Defense Forces identified the facility as Minzadehei. In March, Israeli military spokesperson Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin stated that the complex was linked to Iran’s efforts to develop nuclear weapons. According to the Israeli military, intelligence tracked visits by Iranian nuclear scientists to the site before the strike.

Protected complex

According to the Israel Defense Forces, the complex was intended to restore technologies and develop capabilities needed to create nuclear weapons. The Israeli side did not specify which component was being developed there.

The complex has above-ground buildings and structures partially built into a slope. The Institute for Science and International Security described it as a well-protected facility with buildings, roads and structures integrated into the slope.

Other signs of construction

Activity at Minzadehei is taking place amid other indications that Iran may be resuming parts of its nuclear program. In September, Israeli intelligence presented information about new construction at the Pikeks Mountain facility, a mountainous location south of Tehran considered a possible site for restoring elements of the nuclear program. At the same time, the available data did not confirm that uranium enrichment was taking place there.
