Toyota unveils Grand Highlander Hybrid Woodland with increased ground clearance — Motor1
Toyota has unveiled the 2027 Grand Highlander Hybrid Woodland Edition, a new version of the three-row crossover designed for travel on unpaved roads and outdoor recreation. The model comes standard with all-wheel drive, all-terrain tires, and suspension that increases ground clearance by half an inch, Motor1 reports.
The Woodland Edition will complement the Grand Highlander hybrid lineup rather than replace other trims. Toyota expects the vehicles to arrive at dealerships later this year. The 2027 Grand Highlander lineup includes eight trims in total.
Hybrid powertrain and towing
The new model will be offered exclusively with a hybrid powertrain based on a 2.5-liter engine. Its combined output is 245 hp. This is less than the 362-hp Hybrid MAX version, which is the most powerful in the lineup.
The Woodland Edition has a maximum trailer weight rating of 3,500 pounds, the same as other hybrid versions of the Grand Highlander. Gasoline models and the Hybrid MAX can tow up to 5,000 pounds.

Equipment for outdoor trips
The crossover is designed for seven passengers and has two separate second-row seats instead of a bench. This layout makes access to the third row easier.
Equipment also includes a removable second-row cooler that holds six 12-ounce cans, all-weather floor mats, and a cargo-area tray with raised dividers. Across the Grand Highlander lineup, cargo space with the rear seats folded can reach 97.5 cubic feet.
The 2027 Grand Highlander lineup also offers a 265-hp 2.4-liter gasoline turbo engine and a 362-hp Hybrid MAX powertrain. The base price of the gasoline front-wheel-drive LE version is $42,560, while the hybrid LE costs $45,910. Toyota has not yet announced the price of the Woodland Edition.
