Kovalenko warned that Russia is preparing for a new attack on Ukraine

Russia is likely preparing for a new wave of massive shelling of Ukraine, Kovalenko said. According to him, the Kremlin intends to put pressure on Ukrainians by targeting energy infrastructure.

This was reported by Andriy Kovalenko, former head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD).

He said that Russia is clearly preparing for a new round of shelling in Ukraine. According to Kovalenko, the Kremlin continues to rely on strikes against critical infrastructure.

“Putin still believes he can break the Ukrainians by cutting off their electricity and heat,” the CCI head noted.

He pointed out that the Russian leadership’s current tactics echo the Kremlin’s previous plans regarding Ukraine. In particular, Kovalenko compared them to Putin’s belief that Russian troops would be able to capture Kyiv in three days.

At the same time, he said, Russia is increasingly facing the consequences of the war on its own territory.

“Putin believed in ‘Kyiv in three days.’ But the war is also increasingly spilling over into Russian territory,” Kovalenko concluded.

As a reminder, Russia struck a residential building in Zaporizhzhia, resulting in casualties.

Earlier, an explosion occurred in Odesa during a Russian attack.

In Sumy, a Russian FPV drone damaged three cars.

In the Pecherskyi district of the capital, debris from a drone fell into the courtyard of a private building.
