After visiting Stava, Zelenskyy stated that a tit-for-tat response to Russia's attacks was necessary

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the results of a meeting of the General Staff, during which the development of Ukraine’s defense capabilities was discussed.

According to him, the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) reported on Russia’s technological priorities for this year and next, as well as on the supply of critical components and equipment for weapons production to Russia. Based on the report, new sanctions packages are being prepared, and Ukraine will work to align them with restrictions imposed by its partners.

Separately, the High Command reviewed the capabilities of electronic warfare systems and their use in protecting infrastructure. Zelenskyy noted that electronic warfare plays a significant role in neutralizing Russian “suicide drones,” so additional tasks have been assigned to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and manufacturers.

The meeting participants also outlined the main objectives for equipping the Defense Forces with long-range drones for the coming year.

“The main criterion is that we must have the ability to respond in kind to Russian strikes,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
