Sibiga called on partners to step up pressure on Russia following a massive attack

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga called on international partners to tighten sanctions against Russia following the massive strike. According to him, military support for Ukraine and the pressure of sanctions should prompt the Kremlin to choose diplomacy over war.

“On Putin’s birthday, Russian generals gave him his favorite gift: war crimes. A massive attack involving hundreds of missiles and drones struck residential buildings and critical infrastructure in Kyiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kremenchuk, and Pryluky. At least two people were killed in the capital, and four more across the country,” he wrote on social media platform X.

According to Sibiga, Russian generals aren’t telling Putin that he won’t win this war and never will.

“He has lost 1.6 million troops killed and wounded without achieving a single strategic objective of his invasion. His slow advances have stalled, and Ukraine has begun to liberate more territory than he can occupy. His economy is in decline, and his influence in the world is waning. All of this is because he refuses to end this war,” the minister wrote.

He called for not leaving Russia’s terror unanswered: “Following this attack, I urge all partners to give Putin real gifts that will help him finally choose diplomacy over war.”

According to him, this involves, in particular, tightening sanctions against the Russian military-industrial complex—including facilities that produce ballistic missiles and the “Rassvet” satellite system—as well as strengthening support for Ukraine, specifically through air defense systems and assistance in the energy sector ahead of winter.

“But his ultimate ‘gift’ will be a seat in The Hague. We are preparing a Special Tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine, set to begin operations as early as next year. Putin and his friends must know that punishment is inevitable,” Sibiga stated.

As a reminder, Russia destroyed a five-story building with people inside in Pryluky with a missile.

Earlier, at least two people were killed in Kyiv as a result of a nighttime attack.

Russia struck Zaporizhzhia’s transportation infrastructure.

Russia also struck Dnipro with ballistic missiles, damaging a facility.
