Ukrainian pilots destroyed 25 Russian drones in 30 hours

The crew of the “Sova” from the 121st Separate Territorial Defense Brigade destroyed 25 Russian military aerial targets during 30 hours of combat operations. Ukrainian pilots used STING interceptor drones to locate and shoot down enemy drones in mid-air.

The “Sova” crew of the 121st Separate Territorial Defense Brigade carried out a series of combat interceptions of Russian drones. Over the course of 30 hours of operations, Ukrainian pilots reported destroying 25 enemy aerial targets. During combat sorties, Ukrainian pilots searched the skies for Russian drones and attempted to intercept them before they reached their targets.

To do this, the military used STING interceptor drones. These drones are specifically designed to combat aerial targets. They enable Ukrainian forces not only to detect enemy drones but also to destroy them directly in the air. According to the “Wild Hornets,” the “Sova” crew shot down a total of 25 Russian military aerial targets during 30 hours of combat operations.

That is, on average, nearly one target was destroyed every hour of operation. However, the report does not specify the exact type of each of the 25 targets. The operation of interceptor drones has become a crucial part of countering Russian drones. Such aircraft can be used to intercept enemy reconnaissance and strike drones.

A distinctive feature of this combat method is that the Ukrainian interceptor actively engages the enemy target in the air. This allows for an attempt to destroy the Russian drone before it completes its mission. The “Wild Hornets” unit has published a video showing the “Owl” crew in action. The footage depicts combat sorties and the interception of enemy drones.

It is noted that during this series of combat operations, the pilots destroyed 25 enemy aerial targets. At the same time, it is important to note that the information regarding the number of targets destroyed comes from the Ukrainian side. It is currently impossible to independently verify each incident based on the published materials. This was reported by representatives of the “Wild Hornets” project, which manufactures STING interceptor drones.

Today, October 6, Russia launched a series of strikes on a highway in the Odesa region. The attack damaged trucks and passenger cars, and there are casualties.

On the morning of October 6, Russian troops attacked Sumy with strike drones. One of the enemy drones struck a 10-story residential building, injuring two people, including a 16-year-old boy.
