Video: Drones attacked Moscow and the Moscow Region; an oil depot may have been hit
Moscow and the Moscow Region came under drone attack. Sergei Sobyanin, mayor of the Russian capital, stated that at least 28 drones heading toward Moscow had been shot down; there are also reports of damage to an oil depot.
Air defense systems were actively engaged on the outskirts of the Russian capital, and eyewitnesses reported a series of loud explosions in various parts of the region. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin stated that at least 28 drones heading toward the city had been shot down, noting that emergency services were working at the sites where the debris had fallen.
Due to the security threat in the air, Rosaviatsiya decided to temporarily suspend operations at the capital’s three largest airports—Domodedovo, Vnukovo, and Sheremetyevo—which have stopped accepting and dispatching flights.
According to preliminary reports, drones struck a facility belonging to the Russian Federation’s fuel and energy complex—the Volodarskaya Linear Production and Dispatch Station (LPD). The station is located near the town of Volodarsk and the village of Konstantinovo and is the largest oil depot, as well as the main control center for main oil product pipelines throughout the Moscow region.
