Apple and LG reportedly preparing smart home devices, Bloomberg says — The Verge
As The Verge reports, citing Bloomberg, Apple is working with LG on a new lineup of smart home devices. It may include a video doorbell, thermostat, indoor camera and other devices. According to Bloomberg, the products will carry the LG brand and integrate with Apple’s anticipated home hub.
Lock, cameras and thermostat
According to Bloomberg, the upcoming series may also include a deadbolt door lock, an outdoor security camera and a floodlight camera. Some devices are expected to support the Thread and Matter smart home protocols.
The door lock may gain support for ultra-wideband connectivity. This could potentially allow doors to unlock automatically when a user approaches them, Bloomberg notes.
